No timing company? Your aid stations already have phones.
Everything above assumes you publish checkpoint splits. Most ultras cannot: chip timing across a hundred miles of mountain is not in the budget, and it never will be. Of the 248 races on our schedule right now, we can follow six. That is not a gap in what we built, it is the whole problem.
So here is the other way in. Your aid stations become the timing.
Your aid station list with mile marks, and your entrant list. That is the entire setup and we do it, not you.
One private web address per aid station. No app to install, no account, no password. It opens to a number pad.
As a runner comes through, whoever is already writing the number down taps it instead. It confirms the runner by name.
Map, arrival estimates, crew pages, messages read out at the next station, and a permanent results archive afterwards.
- It works with no signal. Every tap is saved on the phone and sent when bars come back. Remote aid stations are the normal case, not the exception.
- A wrong number cannot invent a runner. Bibs are checked against your entrant list as they are typed, and anything unrecognised is refused on the spot, while the volunteer can still look up and read it again.
- Mistakes are correctable and nothing is erased. A correction is recorded next to the original, so the log can always be checked afterwards.
- Nobody is ever marked a DNF by us. If the clock runs out and we never saw a runner finish, we say we do not know, because a volunteer log cannot tell us somebody withdrew. Only you can say that.
- You can switch any station off instantly. Links are per station and revoked one at a time.
- It is free, the same as everything else here. We have never charged a race director and we are not going to start.

Why other trackers do not work
GPS trackers need GPS
Badwater, Western States, Hardrock and UTMB publish checkpoint times only. Most live trackers simply cannot work without GPS. We turn your splits into live positions instead.
Your race, your name
Not buried in an aggregator. Your race gets its own page, your branding, your story. Families see your race name, not a generic leaderboard.
Replay the year before
